Ankara Delight

DSC00321

Hello Everyone! Hopefully you enjoyed your weekend! Today is all about this super amazing Ankara fabric that was gifted to me by a friend from Ghana. It has hearts all over it and because I didn’t want to cut the print up too much, I made this gorgeous dress that complimented the fabric. I usually go to Harlem to get my African Fabric or I order online HEREThey are really affordable per yardage. Pattern review along with my alterations are below. See you guys on the next post. Have a great start to your week!

  ~~~~~~~~Pattern Review~~~~~~
Pattern: McCall 6844
Pattern Description:  Misses Cardigan
Pattern Size Cut: XXL
Fabric Used: Ankara
Details: This was a pretty simple sew up. It’s only 4 pieces and the instructions are pretty straightforward. The only thing I did omit from the instructions were the double stitching  and interfacing (ran out) for the neck band. Because this is a cardigan, I extended the bottom of the ruffles by 7 inches to make a dress out of the pattern. I will definitely sew this pattern again and next time add pockets! Because, who doesn’t like a dress with pockets?! I would definitely recommend this pattern to everyone.
