DIY Crop Top and Wide Leg Pants

Hello Everyone! I hope you enjoyed your weekend! I’m so excited for my full week of posting (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). First up are these wide leg pants that almost didn’t make it! OMG! The zipper installation gave me a run for my money. I almost
scrapped the whole thing, but I pushed through and got it done! The crop top is one of my fave pattern pieces. Off the shoulders? Yes please!  Pattern review and links to my accessories are below

Style Tip* When wearing a loose fitting bottom, it’s best to wear a top that is very fitted or vice versa.

Pattern Review:

Top: Simplicity 1613

Pattern Size Cut: 20

Details: The top looks like the pattern cover except I cropped it and did not add the straps or the overlap at the bust area. It takes no time to sew the top. Instructions were pretty straightforward. I plan on keeping this pattern in rotation for a long time. I’ve already made a fitted dress with this view.

Pants: Simplicity 8177

Pattern Size Cut: 24

Details: The pants looked like the cover photo view C. I should have cut the pants one more size up for a better drape and the waist band one size smaller, but I still love it. Word to the wise people, the ZIPPER WAS SOOOOOO DIFFICULT. If you are a beginner this is not the pattern to try your hand at lol. My seam ripper was a friend and an enemy at the same time. Other than that I will be making this in a few more colors.

Fabric Used: Knit (almost like a neoprene)
